The Lyons Fire Department made a strong appearance on Father’s Day (June 19, 2016), as they were on standby at a local car show. They deployed Engine Company 1312, Medic 1314, and Division 10’s Mobile Ventilation Unit, which was set to DECON mode and used as a cooling station to help people stay comfortable on this sweltering 95-degree day. It was great to see the unit in action, misting off the heat for attendees.
Chief Nord’s vehicle, Car 1301, was also present with its hood open, giving the public a rare peek inside a fire chief's car. It's always interesting to see the equipment and tools that go into these vehicles.
These photos were taken by County-Wide Fire Photography, and they captured some amazing shots of the event. From the fire trucks to the mobile ventilation unit and even the chief’s car, it was a great day for the community and the firefighters who were there to support it.
