The Woodstock Fire Protection District recently completed the controlled burn of model homes that had been offered to them following the failure of a development project. Previous reports detailing the training exercises and earlier burn-downs can be found HERE. This final phase involved a five-unit townhouse complex located on Route 47 (S. Eastwood Drive), just north of Lucas Road. On Friday, December 28th, firefighters prepared each unit by filling them with straw and wood before igniting the structures. A small group of onlookers gathered to witness the event, including local residents Tim Olk and Larry Shapiro, who captured the dramatic scenes with their cameras. Several photos from Larry Shapiro are featured below, along with a comprehensive video documenting the entire process. These images provide a powerful visual record of the fire’s progression and the destruction of the buildings.
