More details about the Camelot Banquet Hall fire in Hickory Hills have been shared by the Chicago Sun-Times. A local police officer is being recognized as a hero after he rescued the owners of the popular venue during a fire that broke out just after 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to Walter Sherman, a battalion chief with the Roberts Park Fire Protection District in Justice.

Officer Ryan Bajt had previously learned that the two owners often stayed overnight at the banquet hall. Upon arriving at the scene, he immediately started knocking on the office door and managed to wake them up before helping them escape the building safely.

In addition to the news from the Chicago Sun-Times, Martin Nowak shared some exclusive images taken by Wladek from Zespol Tornado inside the burned-out hall. These photos offer a rare glimpse into the aftermath of the fire, which has left the venue in ruins.
