The Broadview Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 20, serves an area just under two square miles from a single fire station. The station was once filled with American LaFrance apparatus, and though the fleet has since been updated, two historic units remain in service today. One is a 1982 Century Series pumper, and the other is a rare Grumman AerialCat tower ladder mounted on a low-profile American LaFrance chassis—making it one of a kind. Dennis McGuire, Jr. recently contributed a collection of photos capturing the department’s current fleet. His images include two fire engines, a tower ladder, two ambulances, a utility pickup, and even an X-military AM General Humvee, offering a great visual look at the department’s equipment and history. One of the photos features the Broadview Fire Station located at 2400 S. 25th Avenue. It shows the building that has served the community for many years, standing as a symbol of local emergency services. These images provide a valuable glimpse into the ongoing operations and legacy of the Broadview Fire Department, highlighting both their modern capabilities and historical ties to classic firefighting equipment.
