Here's a message from Daniel Hynd:

A 2-alarm fire at a church on 63rd Street in Downers Grove was handled this morning, July 29th, 2024. The incident initially came in as an AFA (Alarm for Fire Assistance), and police reported heavy smoke coming from the building. As conditions worsened, the alarm was upgraded to a structure fire, then to a box alarm, and finally to a 2nd alarm. Fire crews from Westmont and Lisle-Woodridge set up their towers, while multiple hand lines were deployed to control the blaze, which was believed to be fueled by natural gas.

Photos from the scene are available in full on my website.
