Wärtsilä has received orders for four ocean rescue ship propulsion systems. The new vessel will be built by CSSC Guangzhou Huangpu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and is expected to be delivered by the end of 2014. The order was signed in the second quarter of this year and is part of a total of 22 contracts for the series.
Wärtsilä's propulsion package includes a 9-cylinder Wärtsilä 32 mainframe, a Wärtsilä controlled pitch propeller (CPP), a gearbox, a shaft generator and a Wärtsilä Lipstronic 7000 propulsion control system.
