Northbrook Fire Department responded to a call at 1630 Ferndale Avenue for a reported fire. Upon arrival, Northbrook crews, along with a Glenview engine, noticed light smoke coming from the roof of the residence. It turned out to be a small fire on the exterior rear of the home, likely caused by a malfunctioning outdoor heater or electrical issue. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze and ensured no further spread occurred. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
