Autodesk is partnering with Google Cloud to bring cloud-based rendering solutions to the media and entertainment industry. The collaboration introduces a new ZYNC Render service optimized for Autodesk Maya 2016, allowing users to render 3D scenes directly on Google Cloud. This partnership aims to provide scalable and cost-effective compute resources, with plans to expand the service to other Autodesk products in the future.
"Cloud rendering has transformed how creative studios operate, enabling them to scale their workloads easily and efficiently," said Chris Bradshaw, Senior Vice President at Autodesk. "With this new integration, Maya users can now handle larger projects without investing in additional hardware. It’s just the beginning—our teams are already looking into how we can extend this capability to more of our M&E software."
The flexibility of cloud-based rendering is especially valuable in today’s fast-paced production environment. Small studios can access high-quality rendering without the need for expensive infrastructure or licensing, while larger companies can enhance their existing render farms without increasing capital costs.
The new ZYNC Render service for Autodesk Maya is now available, with pricing starting at $0.60 per hour. Users can leverage supported renderers like Arnold, V-Ray, and RenderMan through ZYNC.
