Our research on soil testing and fertilization is trying to find a reasonable amount of fertilizer for high rice yield from a quantitative perspective. The part of the experimental rice for “adjusted fertilizer” was used to investigate the relationship between soil nitrogen indicators and the basic productivity of the soil, and the relationship between the amount of nitrogen fertilizer application in different paddy fields and early rice yield. The soil tester is the main instrument for measuring the soil.

Through the soil tester, it was found that, in general, soil total nitrogen did not change significantly during a short rotation or growth period. For a certain soil species, there is a close correlation between soil total nitrogen and the amount of effective nitrogen that is converted each year. Therefore, soil available nitrogen will not rise or fall during the year. This provides the basis for applying the results of soil surveys to soil testing and fertilization. To measure soil and fertilize, if it only stays on the basis of soil nutrient content analysis and fertilizes, or stays at the level of lack of supplements, then it is not easy to achieve the goal of economical and reasonable fertilization, and to achieve the purpose of quantitative, it should be done. For years of analysis of fertilizer test data, the relationship between fertilizer production and yield was statistically processed and expressed in a mathematical model.

The purpose of establishing the effect equation of the amount of fertilizer and yield is to guide economical and rational fertilization. Once the effect equation is established, it is possible to use mathematical means to regulate the amount of fertilization when the highest yield is achieved, and to avoid the waste caused by the blind pursuit of high yield. However, it is not enough to calculate the amount of fertilization that captures the highest earnings. The determination of the best fertilization plan should be based on obtaining the most economic benefits. In addition to the need to increase fertilizer utilization to achieve high yields, agrochemical workers should also study reasonable application rates from the perspective of improving economic efficiency. Using the effect equation can also determine the amount of fertilizer that is economically reasonable, so as to obtain the best economic benefit.

Soil tester measurements found that there was a highly significant negative correlation between soil total nitrogen and nitrogen supply rates, and between soil alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen and nitrogen supply rates. For a certain soil type of paddy field in a region, upper soil nitrogen can be derived. The relationship between the index and the nitrogen supply capacity, and the soil nitrogen index can reflect a certain range of soil basic productivity.
