Statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that the cumulative output of the pure electric bus market was 2,723 units in the first five months of this year. Industry boss Yutong Bus continued to rank first, accumulatively producing 488 pure electric buses with a market share of 17.9%; Zhongtong Bus ranked second in the industry, with a cumulative production of 449 vehicles, with a market share of 16.5%; and Shenlong relied on May 372 The production of the vehicle jumped to the third place in the industry and its market share rose to 13.8%.
In terms of sales volume, Shenlong’s data is also excellent. In April, the company ranked 9th in monthly sales of seat passenger cars with a sales volume of 216 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 300%, surpassing Dongfeng Chaolong and Yangzhou Yaxing.
The fast-growing Shenlong Bus was established in September 2005 and is a domestic heavyweight comprehensive passenger car manufacturer. In 2016, Shenlong ranked among the top ten in the national bus sales rankings. The sales of domestic products have covered all provinces and cities except Tibet and Qinghai. In terms of overseas expansion, Shenlong has also performed exceptionally well, and its export volume has remained at the top five in the industry. The products have entered the Asian, African and South American markets in batches and have a high reputation.
The new energy bus is the fist product of Shenlong Bus. In the two years of 2015 and 2016, the gross profit of new energy passenger cars accounted for 67.12% and 59.79% respectively.
On the other hand, the new “powerful partner” of Shenlong Bus also provided strong support for its further development. In March 2017, Dongxu Optoelectronics (000413.SZ) announced that it will purchase 100% of Shenlong Bus by issuing shares and paying cash for RMB 3 billion. The fundraising project is progressing smoothly. In addition, the new energy logistics vehicle project funded by the company is also valued by the market, and is regarded as a new “development model” of Dongxu new energy vehicle business, and will benefit the company's future performance.
Many media analysts said earlier that the joint application of Shenlong Bus has strategic significance for Dongxu Optoelectronics. The latter, as a supplier of high-end equipment manufacturing and display materials in China, will regard the former as a breakthrough and pioneer in the field of new energy vehicles. The marriage is a strong alliance. The strong performance of Shenlong this time also strongly confirmed the media's previous interpretation.
