China's environment is suitable for survival

The automotive electronics market in Europe and the United States is chilly, and international automotive electronics companies have come to China to avoid the cold to spend the winter of the international auto parts industry.

Recently, at the International Automotive Electronics Conference held in Paris, France, analysts at market research institutions predicted that although the European and American auto electronics market is still expected to continue to develop, it is feared that within the next two years, the pace of development will be very slow.

Experts said that the global automotive electronics manufacturing industry is mostly concentrated in North America and Europe. Demand in these markets will show a significant slowdown in 2009. The European market will not see the recovery until 2010. In the global automotive electronics industry, when the cold weather hits people, international automotive electronics companies have come to China to find a way out.

“As we all know, the world economy has become chaotic because of the US financial crisis. This is not only a problem in the United States but also a problem in the world. We are the enterprises that produce automotive electronic products. If the output of complete manufacturers declines, our sales will also decline. "Ping Zeta, chairman of Renesas Semiconductor Management (China) Co., Ltd., told reporters recently.

Pyeongtaek said that China is now moving from a big country to a strong country and has a good environment for development. Renesas wants to grow together with Chinese companies.

Cooperate with universities to implement talent strategy

In the face of the declining European and American automotive electronics market, multinational companies have come to China to seek development opportunities. They have successively carried out various forms of cooperation with Chinese universities, R&D institutions, etc. The full cooperation with Chinese universities has become an important part of their talent strategy.

On October 29th, NEC Electronics held a MCU (microcontroller) product technology seminar at Shanghai Jiaotong University. NEC Electronics has established joint laboratories with 9 Chinese universities and has actively conducted technical seminars on the application of semiconductor products and systems in more than 10 universities. Among them, in order to strengthen the research and development of automotive electronics technology and the training of automotive electronics talents at Shanghai Jiaotong University, in January 2007, NEC Electronics and Shanghai Jiaotong University established a joint laboratory. NEC Electronics has provided microcontrollers with R&D equipment and technical support to the lab for many times to help develop new technologies for low power consumption and high reliability in the in-vehicle communication system and body control.

Automotive semiconductor company Renesas Technology sponsored the MCU model car contest held at Capital University of Economics and Business from November 15th to 16th. In China, Renesas also cooperated with 9 key universities in addition to sponsoring MCU model car contests.

Multinational corporations use technology lectures, set up joint laboratories with companies and universities, and organize events within universities to promote corporate branding and talent pooling.

Localization "rooting"

At present, multinational component companies are still the main players in the Chinese automotive industry chain. On the one hand, they are constantly accelerating their deployment in China with a view to becoming bigger and stronger in the Chinese market. On the other hand, we constantly innovate products and technologies to guide the development of the market.

The Italian company Kebole Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. is preparing to build the first production plant in Asia in China, mainly producing automotive electronic security systems, including anti-theft and parking aids. The new plant and R&D center will begin construction in October this year. After the start of production in 2010, the plant's production capacity of anti-theft and parking aids will reach 3 million units. The head of Kebolai (Beijing) Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. said that the core circuit board of this product is currently imported from Italy and will be fully localized by 2010. By 2009, the total investment of the new plant and R&D center will reach 12 million euros.

Renesas Technology is also expanding its automotive semiconductor business in the Chinese market and strengthening its cooperation with local Chinese automakers. Pyeongtaek said that by expanding its technical support system, Renesas will further strengthen related businesses in the Chinese automotive electronics market, and it is expected that the Chinese market share will increase from about 5% at present to 10% in 2010. "Now it needs effective production. Through technology development, we can provide customers with solutions faster and at the same time reduce product development costs," said Pyeongtaek.
