About two months ago, Delfast officially announced the start of development on its new electric cargo tricycle, a project funded by the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine. Now, the brand is sharing more detailed insights into this exciting new model.

According to Serhii Goncharov, an engineer at Delfast, the Trike features a fully built electric frame equipped with a powerful 750W rear motor and a 48V 40Ah lithium battery. It also includes wellgo pedals, a prowheel crank, and LED headlights. One of the standout features is that the e-tricycle is completely waterproof, making it easy to clean and maintain.

The image above shows the actual construction of the Trike’s frame, which has already been tested in CAD software. This isn’t just a 3D model—it's a real prototype with materials and technologies clearly defined. “We run simulations based on this frame, test different loads, check the total weight, and even mount other components using the program,” explains Goncharov. The engineering team is currently in the building phase.

One of the most impressive aspects of the Trike is its range. It can travel up to 120 km (75 miles) on a single charge, making it an ideal solution for small businesses and independent entrepreneurs who need reliable transportation in remote areas. The main goal behind the Trike is to support local commerce by providing an efficient and accessible way to transport goods where traditional vehicles might not reach.

In addition to its long range, the Trike can carry up to 300 kg (660 lbs), allowing it to handle a wide variety of cargo. While it may not be designed for high-speed off-road adventures, the e-tricycle can still reach speeds of up to 40 km/h (25 mph), ensuring it’s fast enough for everyday use.
