On Monday night, January 28, 2019, the Palatine Fire Department responded to multiple calls about a house fire at 635 E. Thornhill Drive. As units were en route, a visible header was reported, prompting an immediate upgrade to a Code 4 Working Fire. Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames spreading along the exterior of the home in the B-sector. Despite the rapid spread, the fire was quickly brought under control with minimal interior damage. A total of several Palatine fire companies arrived on the scene, along with an engine from Arlington Heights and a Buffalo Grove ambulance. The response was swift and coordinated, showcasing the efficiency of local emergency services. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The fire left visible damage to the structure, particularly on the exterior walls. A photo captured by Larry Shapiro highlights the extent of the destruction.
