This is from John Tulipano:

Yesterday, November 6th, around 9:00 AM, St. Charles Fire Department sent Engine 103 to a car fire at 208 S. 15th Street. The caller reported a burning Buick near the garage with some small explosions. I was about seven blocks east and heading that way. I arrived just 30 seconds before Engine 103.
After the fire was out, the engineer pointed out that the hood shocks had actually embedded into the garage door. (See the last photo)
The fire under the hood was quickly extinguished in just a few minutes. It was pretty intense, but it didn’t spread much beyond the engine area.
It’s always surprising how fast things can go up in flames. I’ve seen a few fires, but this one definitely caught my attention. The explosions were unexpected, and it made me glad we got there so fast.
