A few days ago, Cummins published the Sustainability Report 2012-2013 on the sustainability page of its corporate website.

The report has many global companies' initiatives in sustainable development, involving Brazil, China, Dubai, India, Mexico, Morocco, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Compared with the previous version, the new report provides more informative texts and richer pictures, including a special introduction to Cummins Inc.'s innovation and an extended analysis of the company's security.

Currently Cummins can effectively recover nearly 90% of the waste generated in the production process.

In the past five years, the company reduced its water consumption by 47% by adjusting its overall working hours.

In 2012, the number of greenhouse gas emissions was reduced by 4,300 tons through environmental challenge projects, a record high.

Nearly 28,000 Cummins employees participated in community service activities in 2012 to set a new record.

The company's safety production accident rate—a measure based on the number of records of reported injuries—has dropped by 72% over the past decade.

In 2012, Cummins increased nearly 10% of its investment in supplier diversification.

“Our constant pursuit and continuous commitment to innovation are all about ensuring the continued success of our customers and, ultimately, the sustainable development of our company, creating value for all stakeholders today and in the future.” Cummins Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Tom Linebarger said.
