When installing the valve should pay attention to what the problem

Valve Installation Guide: Before installing any valve, it's essential to understand its intended use and the environment in which it will operate. This will help you choose the most suitable type of valve for your application. Always refer to the manufacturer’s installation instructions to avoid damaging the valve and to ensure optimal performance. Start by cutting the vertical pipe cleanly, then trim and remove any burrs. Measure the diameter carefully to ensure a proper fit. Use a clean cloth or wire brush to clean the pipe and the cut area, making sure the metal surface is bright and free of debris. Avoid using steel wool, as it can leave behind fibers that may interfere with the installation. Apply flux to both the outside of the pipe and the inside of the weld cap. Make sure the flux fully covers the welding area. Use solder sparingly—too much can cause issues like blockage in the sealing area. Keep the valve open during the heating process to prevent damage. For silver brazing, assemble the parts carefully. If the solder-coated components are left upright, moisture may evaporate, causing the solder to flake off and expose the metal to oxidation. When connecting, insert the pipe into the sleeve until it meets resistance. Ensure the assembly is secure and aligned straight to maintain stability during the entire brazing process. Note: For valves with a nominal diameter of 1 inch or larger, it may be difficult to heat the connection evenly in one go. In such cases, two torches are usually required. Preheat the entire joint area properly before starting. Use an acetylene flame to heat the pipe, starting about 1 inch above the valve. Move the flame up and down around the pipe while rotating it slightly to avoid overheating. The flame should move continuously, not remain in one spot. When heating the valve sleeve, ensure even distribution of heat. Continue heating until the flux on the pipe and valve no longer makes a hissing sound. Do not overheat the valve. Once the flux becomes liquid and transparent, move the flame back and forth along the axis of the joint to maintain consistent temperature. Use the correct amount of solder. For example, a 3/4-inch solder wire is suitable for a 3/4-inch valve. Excess solder can flow into the pipe and block the seal. As you apply the solder, you should see it flowing smoothly between the pipe and the valve sleeve. Once the joint is complete, use a brush to remove any excess solder while it is still sticky. After cooling, apply a fillet around the valve port for added strength. Be aware that using different brazing materials can reduce the joint’s strength. Proper cleaning and preparation of the pipe and valve surfaces are critical for a strong bond. The internal dimensions of the valve bushings must be precise to ensure good adhesion. Always check for residues from cleaning agents after the process. Any contamination or improper cleaning can lead to poor solder flow, oxidation, and voids in the joint. For threaded connections, make sure the pipe is completely clean. Dirt or debris inside the pipe can damage the valve’s internal components. Clean the pipe thoroughly with air or steam. When threading, measure the length accurately and avoid blocking the seat or disc. Clean the thread ends to remove any metal shavings or deposits. If you want a stronger connection, use Teflon tape or pipe adhesive. Apply only a small amount to the pipe threads, but never on the valve threads. Avoid letting any adhesive enter the valve body, as it could damage the disc or seat. Before installation, close the valve and ensure all fluid is drained through it. This helps the valve function properly. Place a wrench on the hex head of the pipe to prevent deformation. After installation, support the pipeline to prevent sagging, which can cause the valve to deform or fail. For flange connections, start by cleaning the flange surfaces thoroughly. Loosely attach a few bolts to the base. Insert the gasket carefully and place the remaining bolts. Tighten them in a cross pattern rather than one by one to distribute pressure evenly. After some time of use, check and retighten the bolts if necessary to maintain a secure connection.
