Sinosteel Xingji's output to Zhongshan slab continuous casting machine project completed
Recently, with the last container truck loaded with components of the continuous casting machine heading toward Tianjin Port, the final shipment of the Zhongshan Slab Caster for Japan was successfully dispatched. This marks the completion of the slab caster project developed by Sinosteel Xingtai Machinery Roll Co., Ltd. for Japan Nippon Steel Corporation. It is the 22nd continuous casting machine and CDQ equipment exported to Japan since the company began collaborating with Nippon Steel in 1995, highlighting a long-standing and successful partnership.
Metallurgical forming equipment is one of Sinosteel's key products outside of steelmaking machinery, featuring a range of independent intellectual property rights and strong R&D capabilities. The Zhongshan slab continuous casting machine project, which had a contractual delivery period of just one year, has an installed capacity exceeding 1,000 tons. The project involved high technical complexity, including detailed design work such as support rollers, front roller tables, and cutting rollers—among 24 similar components.
To date, Sinosteel Xingji has designed and manufactured 224 continuous casting machines for over 60 steel enterprises in China and seven in Japan. From 2004 to 2006, the company held more than 25% of the total number of continuous casting machines in the country for three consecutive years. Additionally, it holds a market share of over 60% for large-scale coke oven protection devices exceeding 6 meters in size and has a market coverage of over 40% for CDQ equipment. These achievements underscore its strong presence and technological leadership in the metallurgical industry.
