Public Company Information: NASDAQ: ADSK SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK), in collaboration with CGarchitect, a leading online publication and community for design and visualization professionals, has announced the winners of the 2015 Autodesk Excellence in Infrastructure Competition. This annual event highlights outstanding uses of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in civil infrastructure projects across the globe. Now in its fourth year, the competition recognized Arup as the first-place winner, Ramboll – Parsons Brinckerhoff Joint Venture as second, and HNTB as third, for their innovative work on transit and bridge projects. CivilE, LLC was honored with the Small Project Award, while Dawn Digital Pvt. Ltd. received the Visualization Award. “Each winning project demonstrates how BIM can transform complex infrastructure development by improving coordination, efficiency, and communication,” said Amar Hanspal, Senior Vice President at Autodesk. “For example, Arup’s work on the MTR Shatin to Central Link involved creating a detailed model that integrated GIS data, station designs, and existing structures—showcasing how BIM can support large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects.” The competition, managed by CGarchitect and co-sponsored by Autodesk and HP, received 40 entries from around the world. These included projects in airports, ports, bridges, rail, roads, water resources, and more. Judges evaluated submissions based on complexity, innovation, sustainability, and the effective use of BIM throughout the project lifecycle. Winners will be celebrated at Autodesk University 2015 in Las Vegas this December. **First Place: Arup** Arup won for its work on the MTR Shatin to Central Link, a 17km railway expansion in Hong Kong. The project involved constructing tunnels, underground stations, and ventilation systems in one of the city’s most densely populated areas. Using BIM helped the team manage the complexity and ensure seamless coordination. **Second Place: Ramboll – Parsons Brinckerhoff Joint Venture** This joint venture was recognized for its work on the Transport for London Hammersmith Flyover. They used laser scanning and BIM to accurately model an aging bridge and plan its strengthening, ensuring precision and collaboration among all stakeholders. **Third Place: HNTB** HNTB was awarded for its work on the Sixth Street Viaduct in Los Angeles. As California’s first arch-configuration bridge, it presented unique seismic challenges. BIM played a key role in coordinating engineering and architectural efforts. **Small Projects Award: CivilE, LLC** CivilE, a small firm in Texas, used BIM to manage a challenging site with steep grade changes and over 1,300 trees. Their approach improved collaboration and allowed them to deliver a sustainable design within budget. **Visualization Award: Dawn Digital Pvt. Ltd.** Dawn Digital created a stunning fly-through animation for Godrej BKC in Mumbai, combining aesthetics with functional design. Their work demonstrated how BIM tools can help even small firms produce high-quality visualizations. About Autodesk Autodesk empowers people to imagine, design, and create a better world.
